We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and culturally grounded Support Workers to join our team in providing high-quality care and support for four clients aged 8–17 years living with special needs.

These young individuals have Autism, Global Developmental Delay, and are non-verbal, requiring patient, responsive, and consistent support in their day-to-day lives.

Shifts: Part‑time and full‑time shifts available (12‑hour shifts: 7 am – 7 pm or 7 pm – 7 am).

Hourly rate: $24.08 - $29.97

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care, exercise program and daily routines.
  • Engage the client in meaningful and stimulating activities.
  • Provide emotional support in a calm and patient centred manner.
  • Promote independence while ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider support team.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children and / or individuals with special needs is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong service focus that enables the building off effective client relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Personal qualities of initiative, integrity, reliability and self-confidence.
  • Availability to work a permanent 12‑hour shift schedule.
  • Strong time management and organisation skills.
  • A reasonable level of fitness is required to cope with the demands of the role, including the ability to safely support and assist a strong person when needed.
  • Holds current New Zealand full or restricted driver’s licence and owns vehicle.
  • Completed or working towards Level 2 Support Worker qualification (desirable).
