Royal District Nursing Services (RDNS NZ) is growing, and we are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to provide care and support to clients living independently in their own homes throughout Whangarei and surrounding Northland communities. This role requires regular travel between client homes, flexibility to work on weekends, and the ability to support clients with personal care and daily living activities.

About the role:

As a Support Worker, you will provide essential care and support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain dignity, comfort, and wellbeing.

  • Employment Type: Permanent Full-time
  • Hourly rate: $24.08 - $29.97 (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Work location: Whangarei and surrounding Northland areas
  • Minimum hours of work: 30 hours per week, rostered Monday to Sunday between 7:00am and 9:30pm, including weekend work.
  • Responsibilities: Provide personal care, household cleaning, wellness checks, medication prompting & meal preparation.

What we need from you:

  • A caring and empathetic nature.
  • Reliability, honesty, and high integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients. 
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and person-centred care
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Whangarei, and surrounding Northland areas.
  • Availability and willingness to work weekends on a regular basis is essential.
  • A current and valid driver's licence that allows you to legally drive in New Zealand and access to a reliable vehicle is essential.
  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or above), or a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience in aged care, disability support, community support, or a related field.
