Royal District Nursing Services (RDNS NZ) is looking for dedicated caregivers for both weekday and weekend shifts to join our team. We are a trusted not-for-profit provider of home and community services across New Zealand. This role involves assisting clients primarily in West Auckland

About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker (Mandarin/Cantonese & English) to provide personalised support to clients in the West Auckland area. This role is ideal for someone who is fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese and English, and passionate about helping others live independently and with dignity.

You will be supporting clients with daily living activities, companionship, and encouraging community engagement. Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin/Cantonese will be essential in building strong, culturally respectful relationships with clients and their families. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks (e.g. showering, dressing, meals)
  • Assist with mobility and safe transfers
  • Support clients with appointments, social outings, and community access
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes
  • Respect cultural values, beliefs, and individual preferences

What we need from you:

  • Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese and English (spoken and written)
  • Prior experience in disability support, aged care, mental health, or similar (preferred but not essential – training provided)
  • NZ Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Physically fit and able to assist with mobility support
  • Empathetic, patient, and respectful of different cultures and lifestyles

Shifts Available 

  • Monday to Friday - 7 am to 7 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday - 7 am to 7 pm
