We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Community Facilitator to assist a 19-year-old boy who has vision impairment, cognitive impairments, and experiences some behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on his daily life by offering support and guidance in a variety of areas.

The shift available Monday & Tuesday 9 AM - 2.30 PM. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care routines, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Support with meal preparation and actively engage him in the meal preparation process, encouraging independence and development of life skills.
  • Offering guidance while maintaining a nurturing, empathetic approach.
  • Foster a warm, and supportive environment, helping him feel valued and engaged.
  • Support his behavioural needs, responding appropriately to any challenging situations and working with the team to create positive strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in personal care, meal preparation, and supporting individuals with cognitive impairments.
  • Cultural awareness: A strong understanding of Māori perspectives and tikanga Māori. 
  • A caring, patient, and person-centred approach.
